Somewhere In Wonderland
And as the snow lay melting

- I thought of you

As tiny glass bubbles passed by bursting

Were it not for the foreign language,

I think we could've gotten along with one another

Negative minds can only comprehend clouds of indifference

So here we were,

and perhaps are still

Circles forming

In a place served up as our unity / our emptiness

Do you think that they heard the whispers and cat-calls?

My head did hurt

And, the club that struck me upon the head,

is banging still

But somethings brought me back to this time of misfortunes

When hurt brought you 'round my way

And, your mother in her pretty Christmas bonnet

Telling you all the while that you were no good

I wonder if she's still plotting her revenge behind her veil of snow-globes?

And I will tell you this...

The White Rabbit sends his regards......

Ivy
I'll tell you a story

tragic & true

About a girl named Ivy & a boy named Blue

Shaping the sky so high above

She needed his virtue

She needed his love

And as things did go, and sometimes how they went

His love was fleeting as his time was spent

She thrust fourth her leaves, onward & high

She reached for the boy

She reached for the sky

Though her efforts in vain could not mask her hurt

She sank further down within the earth's dirt.

She watched as her leaves did tumble and fall

She looked horrified at the newly naked wall.

She felt winters cold blow its shiver within.

For love had become an unforgivable sin.

And, as wrong can't be right.

And, right will not wrong.

She hibernated and hummed an earthy new song

A blue bird flying her way felt compelled to stare

He watched as her leaves formed again there

He listened closely as her vines gave way

To a new found freedom

-a brighter day……

Fountain Of Your Youth
Timeless

Never Aging

Nonexistent

Beauty

And, watch it fly

No Fountain

No Magic Pill

Time

Second guessing

Rotating the past

Cheap shots

Spools of thread

Stitch up the holes

Love

Empty

Once it's gone, it's gone

Not coming back

You pushed it further away

Friend...

(If we're left holding onto the things that have already let us go.

Or, live our lives trying to recreate that which has gone away...

What do we end up with?

Nothing…)

I am Woman, I am crazy
Some Man said it; it must be so
I am Woman, I am crazy
It's off to an asylum I go
I am Woman, I am crazy
'cause I love with my whole heart
I am Woman, I am crazy
Pay attention as my emotions play the part
I am Woman, I am crazy
'cause my tears you won't understand
I am Woman, I am crazy
And, I like it that way, Man!
I am Woman, I am crazy
And, I will change your point of view
I am Woman, I am crazy
'cause I gave birth to you.
I am Woman, I am crazy
Without me your world is dark and gray
I am Woman, I am crazy
Let my creativity light your way
I am Woman, I am crazy
And, I'll wear that badge with pride
I am Woman, I am crazy
I've been condemned for having tried....

The Fog

Skipping in time with my arch enemies footsteps

I can see you!

I can hear you!

I can feel you!

And, I will devour you;

-until all that is left is a confusion as old as time

And, you would have thought that you were me

-flipped outside in.

And, the mannerisms that caught the boys attention

-will also belong to me.

Are you blindfolded?

Have you lost sight of the crystal blue water so murky now with your confusion?

It echoes the same sentiments so strong that the heart can only forgive by letting go.

And, you thought you didn't care.

But now it consumes you.

The doors once closed have swung violently open

So you take a peak -

but what is found will destroy you

As it claims you!

As it enfolds you!

And, you'll choke on your absentminded thoughts.

Since when did you loose your sense of control?

It's so dense -

The fog…

Adieu
Sorry for the intrusion,

-and, I beg your pardon.

Please excuse these thoughts as I clear these spider webs within.

My head's mending;

-thank you for your kindness.

Everything for the moment is sparkling like new.

Can you hear it?

-the childlike laughter that echoes?

I bet you knew all along that I thought it would never again be mine to possess.

But, words are fleeting.

And, actions loud.

I shall rise up lifted,

-handing out second glances.

As though, I was riding upon a steam engine…

Bidding you adieu…

Ladle

Was it just that easy?

I'd sit here and pour you a cup.

Straight from this pot, into this ladle,

-upon your lap; if you'd like.

You see, I never really understood all that stuff.

You know, the stuff they throw at you,

-when you're hurting.

It was just when the winter's cold grabbed hold,

-and I thought: 'Maybe all I need is a cup of tea'

But, it was never enough.

Not to satisfy me.

I craved for something more.

So I pulled out my pot, and all the ingredients I needed.

I worked really hard till it bubbled and did froth.

I lay it out here before you.

To bask in it's warmth.

And, I asked if you would like a taste…

Breaking The Spell
And, then it dawned on me

-your hair was never that shade of red,

nor was it soft to my touch.

'cause, as I ran my fingers through it

-the cuts its coarseness caused sent painful shocks throughout me.

And, as I looked into your eyes

-they became dull/hallow & empty.

They were never as bright as I once thought.

And, that body of yours that held me

-never glistened, but cracked and was dry to my touch.

And, those long legs that caught everyone else's attention

-got caught and bound up in rusty chains.

And, that swagger so pronounced,

-had become to look rather limp and well, lame.

And, your knowledge was fleeting

-as everything you knew became nothing at all.

And, as I watched you laugh at the world around you;

-began to realize that the world was laughing at you…

Hollow
There once was an empty barnyard door left open a crack.

And, through that door sprang fourth the ghost of yesterday,

-slinking through.

And, there were green leaf trees with branches left dangling

-as though by a thread.

And, the boy who no longer played in the field

-upon the tire swing;

had grown to meet up with someone else's girl.

And, he kissed her fully upon her shallow lips,

-and she died.

And, the daisies all dropped into a defeated bow and wept.

And, every tear drop in Heaven formed upon the weightless clouds

-and reigned down upon the earth.

As, Cupid hung his bow & arrow.

Not a one said a word.

And, life as it were had closed up shop and gone away......

Tall Tales
I'll tell you a story.

A tale short or long.

Your choice as I choose my words

-delicately

The story of a Howling Wind

-that picked up its speed and drew me within.

And, within its grasp, held tightly onto me

As my breath lulled

And, I could not scream to save myself.

I reached hands spread out in a defiant matter of speaking

As, my knees and my hands were cut amongst the body of sharpened gates

I could not grab hold of them long enough to hold on.

And, the blood poured fourth through the open wounds.

I closed my eyes

-chose not to see what was in front of me.

Thoughts of the past engulfed me within their bubble.

And, I found safety as I glided through the air

-happily.

Up & upward higher

-until the wind and I became one another.

One

-and in perfect unison.

And, I bid the past goodbye, as my mind closed

-I remembered nothing...
